The origins of my name

My name is Francesca because this is my grandmothers' name. The name Francesco and his female Francesca derive from the medieval Latin name Franciscus whose meaning is "Franco" or "free" and, by extension, "free man". The reason for this allocation depend on the fact that the Franks, during the Middle Ages, were the only people who could enjoy the right of free citizens.
